We have come to believe that having fun is critical to good writing. If you are having fun doing your thing, then you are winning the race, if you want to call it that!
Keeping a smile on your face is so very important. Sometimes we have to consciously tell our brain to allow the corners of our mouth to lift up and make a smile. When we do that, we feel better about ourselves and life in general. It takes more muscles to frown than to smile, and besides, when you smile your eyes twinkle!
Having good humor is something that seems to come naturally to some folks. But is it nature or nurture? Maybe it’s a little of both. Coming from a large family can be one way to acquire a sense of humor, or it can provide a lifetime of resentment towards others. It all depends on how the family relates (no pun intended) to each other.
In writing, there is no one right way to go about practicing your craft. In the words of Nike, you “just do it.” But when you are having fun doing it, it makes the process a great deal more interesting and productive. So keep a positive attitude and a smile on your face, and see what happens!
